We strive to make it easy to find products which are suitable for one’s personal use. By analyzing each ingredient’s impact on health, our proprietary algorithm can quickly help people find products which fit their individual health conditions and/or preferences.
The 1Source Potential Risk Index™(PRI) scale for both Ingredients and Products:
Poduim EN
Our proprietary algorithm for assessing ingredients is multi-faceted.
It takes into account intrinsic chemical properties by analyzing the number of health conditions an ingredient is beneficial for and/or detrimental to.
It also considers peer reviewed research and government regulations: Sources include, but are not limited to PubMed, PubChem, EU CosIng, FDA, UN WHO, and more.
The algorithm also considers the type of usage for each ingredient and breaks it down into four separate categories. Inhale, Swallow, Contact, Environment also known as “ISCE.”
Ratings 1-9 are automatically generated by the algorithm. Ingredients rated 10 are those which have been banned or have been classified by the IARC as a carcinogen.

A products PRI is determined by the ingredients which it contains and the product’s intended use. If a product contains any ingredient which has a PRI of 10 than the product will also be rated a 10. The ingredient’s 10 rating must be in the same category as the product for this to happen.
Ratings 2-10 are assigned by the algorithm, which only considers ingredients. To obtain a rating of 1 the product must be manually vetted.
The vetting process goes beyond the ingredients themselves. A company’s mission, values, ethics, management, facilities, and environmental friendliness are all taken into account during the vetting process. We believe that these considerations play a large part into whether a product is truly safe or not.
For a company to have the 1Source vetted seal, it means the company has taken every possible consideration into making the safest product possible.
