2. Binder / Stabilizer - Retains the physical characteristics of food/cosmetics and ensure the mixture remains in an even state.
Potassium tartrate, dipotassium tartrate or argol, is the potassium salt of tartaric acid. It is often confused with potassium bitartrate, also known as cream of tartar. As a food additive, it shares the E number E336 with potassium bitartrate. Commercially it is manufactured as a by-product of the wine industry.
It is approved to use as food additive in EU.
