About:

Functions:
1. Flavor / Flavoring / Flavor Enhancer - Provides or enhances a particular taste or smell.
The term of "Flavor" or alike is not an individual ingredient, but rather is a subset of hundreds if not thousands of natural and synthetic compounds. Since there're no clear guidelines or disclosures of its compositions, consumers should pay extra care due to its potential unknown health effects.
Our Flavor Rating is calculated in a theoretical and sample manner.
Theoretical:
Flavors are based on the 5 basic tastes: Sweet, Sour, Bitter, Salty and Unami. This is further split into their chemical representatives so a theoretical Flavor rating can be determined.
Sample:
Some manufacturers provide component ingredients which constitutes their Flavor recipes. After the ingredients have been rated individually, a proprietary formula is used to determine Flavor rating.
The theoretically calculated Flavor rating and the long-running average of Flavor recipes found proved to be identical.
Although Flavors tend to be harmless for most, extra precautions should be taken for those who suffer from food allergies.
Fun Facts:
-A person who cannot see is blind, a person who cannot taste is ageusic
-Dysgeusia, parageusia and hypogeusia are all related to the distortion or decrease in taste sensitivity. Individuals who suffer from it tend to have a persistent metallic taste in their mouths
